St. Louis Composting, Inc., the region’s largest producer of STA-Certified Compost, Mulch Products and Soil Blends seeks a Compost Facilities Manager. This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the facilities.

• Make cost effective and productive use of allocated equipment and manpower
• Ensure day-to-day compliance with applicable rules and regulations including SWPPP/SPCC/
• Supervise approximately 30 employees
• Ensure ongoing facilities operations, maintenance and repair for the site(s)
• Manage and direct day-to-day operations of facilities and personnel, including scheduling product and materials production
• Ensure facility guidelines are known, understood, implemented and performed according to Operations Manuals
• Assist Safety Coordinator with administering the Company’s Safety Program
• Other duties and responsibilities related to the nature of the job may be assigned on a temporary or permanent basis as needed

• Bachelor’s Degree, plus three to five years’ experience in managing facility operations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel and Word), web-based data management tools, and Internet applications
• Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
• Ability to effectively present information to top management and public groups
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
• Practical experience in effectively managing people in a positive and constructive manner
• Practical experience in record keeping, scheduling, following regulations and procedures
• Practical experience in preparing annual budgets
• Basic heavy equipment knowledge
• Ability to operate heavy equipment is a plus

• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally up to 100 pounds
• Regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Have good peripheral vision, color discrimination, and depth perception
• Endure periodic climbing, bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, pushing and pulling
• Function in workplace environmental conditions including, but not limited to, cold, heat, bright sun, noise, and nuisance dust
• May require traveling 10% of the time
