The Senior Analyst Regulatory (product registration) is responsible for obtaining and maintaining federal/state/territory registrations of Scotts products. The Senior Analyst Regulatory (product registration) will develop registration strategies in order to meet the timing needs of the business. The Senior Analyst Regulatory (product registration) leverages internal and external relationships to influence outcome to benefit Scotts business. In addition, the Senior Analyst Regulatory (product registration) will proactively identify regulatory issues that will impact our business.
Key Work Performed:
Participates in team meetings and supports new product launches or product changes.
Independently prepares and submits product applications and/or registrations along with required regulatory maintenance activities (new registrations, amendments, notifications, etc.).
Reviews and approves labels and labeling in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
Independently responds to requests and other correspondence from regulatory agencies.
Independently develops registration strategies intended to support execution of the business plan.
Keeps current on regulatory requirements through self study/attendance at conferences/training seminars.
Independently interacts and negotiates with appropriate regulatory authorities on registration issues relevant to the business.
Monitors government regulatory activities and represents Scotts through an established network of external resources via leadership in appropriate external organizations.
Education: Bachelor degree or equivalent professional experience in relevant science, government affairs, or technical disciplines. Masters or higher preferred.
Experience: 5 or more years relevant work experience. Related disciplines may include government affairs, formulations, environmental science, product development, various plant sciences, toxicology, etc.
Demonstrated expertise related to state and/or federal regulations.
Demonstrated expertise related to time and/or project management principles.
Strong understanding Scotts product categories a plus.
Awareness of other relevant chemical regulations (e.g. OSHA, VOC, Prop 65).
