This position is in a front-line role and is the key coordinator of OWRR’s business processes, customer service provision, and data management.
This position coordinates day to day procedures, provides customer service to the campus community, and maintains all types of records and information for the office. This position processes requests for services, keeps track of data related to waste diversion amounts and costs, and manages the office. This position communicates program information, policies, and procedures to customers. This position coordinates technical processing functions and serves as the billing, data management, and business process expert for the program. This position supports other staff members and helps keep program information up-to-date (stickers, brochures, newsletters, website, etc.) This may include preparing and writing report summaries and other brief communication pieces.
This position routinely answers questions via phone and email about recycling, composting and waste management—both general and detailed questions about services. This position processes work orders and communicates with internal operations staff and contractors to ensure that service requests are communicated, completed, and billed (if applicable).
This position inputs and manages data from a variety of sources for monthly programming reports, annual waste recovery calculations and trend report, fiscal reporting, billing, preventative maintenance, service schedules, and database upkeep. This includes producing reports, creating and manipulating complex spreadsheets, and writing summaries. This position compiles reports for the office including monthly reports summarizing programs and services, monthly and annual trend analysis reports, and summary comparisons.
This position supports outreach and engagement activities by coordinating the update of materials, printing jobs, and other outreach support pieces by working with UNC Creative, the Waste Diversion Coordinators, or the Program Manager. The position is expected to make modifications to existing promotional materials, update websites and social media, produce simple newsletters, and assist with the upkeep of inventory, printing, and design of materials.
This position provides support to the OWRR staff in terms of helping to schedule meetings, managing office supplies, providing basic assistance with computer issues, organizing and filing documents, and assisting with special projects. This position may supervise student interns in supporting roles or for special projects.
